Dates

The STEMpower Her Hackathon will run from December 21–28, 2025.
All official activities, submissions, and judging will occur within this timeframe.
The final submission deadline is December 28, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time.
Late submissions will not be accepted.

Eligibility

  • Register individually (teams of 1–4 formed later)

  • Create all work themselves during December 21–28

  • Participate from any location and meet deadlines

  • Not be an organizer, judge, or mentor

Project and Submission Requirements

All submissions must be completed on Devpost by December 28, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time and must include:

Project Description
A brief explanation of the problem, your solution, key features, and what you used to build it.

Demo Video (1–4 minutes)
A short video that shows how your project works or is intended to work. Add a public link (YouTube, Google Drive, etc.).

Code Repository or Files (Optional but Encouraged)
A GitHub repo or uploaded files. Non-technical projects may submit design files instead.

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Projects will be evaluated by appointed judges using the following scoring rubric:

  • Impact (30 points): Importance of the problem and potential effectiveness of the solution

  • Innovation (20 points): Originality and creativity

  • Technical Complexity (20 points): Depth of technical implementation relative to team experience

  • Design and User Experience (15 points): Clarity, structure, and user-centered design

  • Presentation and Communication (15 points): Quality and clarity of the demo video and written submission

Judging will take place after the submission deadline.
Winners will be selected based on combined scores across all judges.
Prize announcements will occur after December 28, 2025, following the completion of judging.
All judging decisions are final.
